My husband and I stayed at Fleur's B&B in December 2019 and absolutely fell in love with this most charming city. Fleur and family were fantastic and I still think fondly about their enchanting gardens and home as well as those daily homemade breakfasts! The room was perfect and provided the comforts of home after a long day. She even allowed us to wash our clothes and let them dry above the open kitchen! We especially enjoyed the little boxes in the foyer letting us know who was home or out - neat! The B&B is very centrally located, we used the tram with pre-purchased tickets to get most everywhere, in addition to strolling the quaint neighborhoods getting lost in the beauty of the city. Fleur is the ultimate tour guide, offering wonderful suggestions and providing museum passes to most. We visited the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank house, Van Gogh museum, Heineken Experience as well as many other fantastic breweries - our favorites being Brouwerij't IJ and de Prael. We also visited the Flea Market in the Noord which was an exciting experience! Elsa's is a MUST - take the little alley behind it to feel like a local. The staff recognized us after our first visit and were even trying to get us tickets to the match one night! I highly recommend this gem, especially considering it's located outside the tourist areas and we always felt very safe. Mr. and Mrs John Martin USA
I stayed at Fleur’s B&B by myself and had a great time.I was visiting family that lived around the corner so the location was perfect. The B&B is very centrally located with easy access to transport. But you won’t need it because you can borrow a bike and get around the way the locals do! Fleur was very welcoming with a lovely breakfast each morning with fresh bread from the bakery and a hearty meal. The room was spacious and comfortable. I was sharing a toilet but I never encountered anyone nor had to wait. Although you are in someone’s house you are free to come and go and be as social as you would like. Fleur gave me a museum card to use and a great suggestion of going to the Resistance museum, which we thought was great. Definitely stay here if you are thinking about it. If will make your time in Amsterdam perfect. Thanks Fleur! Mrs Caroline Waters USA
We were lucky to get into Fleur's bed and breakfast. We were two couples travelling together and our friend's daughter joined us from England. Fleur was able to accommodate us all! My husband and I were given the best room on the main floor with a lovely ensuite. The others found a room on the second floor. We had such a good time together thanks to Fleur's lovely breakfasts, her adorable pets, flowers everywhere and so much help in the sightseeing department. We only wish we could have stayed longer to visit more sights! The museum passes were great, and the location a little away from the city centre was welcome and charming. We would love to come back! We enjoyed the relaxed, informal atmosphere; lots of light and warmth in the breakfast room/kitchen. It's in a real neighbourhood which is quiet and yet has great amenities, not least the Italian restaurant - so reasonable - and De Kas - so amazing! swankiest greenhouse setting for the best food ever. There is vegetarian close by (though we did not try it) a delicatessen, cheese shop, supermarket and lots more in this area alone. A great base for exploring Amsterdam, even on foot. The home is in a quiet neighborhood close to the tram line. It's nice to have a place outside center city to come home to at night. We ended up walking almost everything but it surely is nice to have the tram option. We had a car with us, which is kind of like a ball and chain in Amsterdam, but Fleur directed us to the nearby P and R which ended up costing only 1 euro a day. Be aware, though, that they do not take VISA there. Bring something other than Visa along with you to Amsterdam. We had to prevail upon a kind Dutch stranger to pay for our parking and pay him back... Visa, apparently, is not "everywhere you want to be..." Kathy King United Kingdom
My wife and I stayed with Fleur for 8 days and it was a real treat. We were greeted warmly and treated with hospitality. Fleur and her kids made awesome breakfasts each day--fresh bread, jams, eggs, and coffee--we miss it already. When we arrived Fleur gave us information about where to go, what to do, and provided museum passes. The passes save you a TON of money, especially if you intend to visit a lot of museums (there are a lot)--they will save you 200+ euros easily as every museum and church in Amsterdam costs a ridiculous amount and there were two of us. Instead of spending all that money on museums, you can spend it on the great restaurants in the area, of which there are many. Fleur also provided us with the chip cards for the tram rides and we just paid for what we used at the end--much easier than buying a pass or filling it up yourself at the station.
We stayed the first two nights in the upstairs bedroom which was very nice and then transferred to the main bedroom the rest of the stay which was also very nice. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were very welcoming. Forget about hotels, you need to stay with Fleur--the rates are great, the museum passes are worth gold, and you won't regret it. Amsterdam is an awesome city and staying with Fleur was the best way to experience it. We definitely will stay with her again the next time we're in town.Marcia Netheim Germany
